Who ....?

 

Sheikh Essa bin Mohammed Al Zedjali , The Chairman of the Muscat Press and Publishing and the Editor of  "Times of Oman" newspaper.

 

He was born in Muscat in 1939.

What he was did?

 

  • He began his career  in Aramco company in Saudi Arabia  in 1954.

  •  He moved to work in  Kuwait, he served as Chairman of the Division archives in the Ministry of Post, Telegraph and Telephone in Kuwait. 

 

  • Then, he work as secretary in the Department of Petroleum in Abu Dhabi. 

  • And , in 1972 , he work in  the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Director for Consular Affairs.

  • In 1974, He was appointed general consul of the Sultanate in Mumbai.

  • Then ,  from 1989 until 1994 he was Honorary general consul  of the Republic of  Philippines in Muscat.

  • And, he was a member of the Advisory Board for two terms.

  • And, he was  member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry  in Oman  for  8 years.

  • Then,  he was a  member in the Authority of  resolve commercial disputes for 6 years.

  • In 1975, he was the  foundations of  Al Essa house for  Printing and Publishing.

  • He was published ‘ Times of Oman newspaper ‘ that was  the first English newspaper in the Sultanate and he was  the edited president for it until his death.

  • And, he  was a member of the Organization of World Press.

  •  He was a member of the Gulf Press Union.

  • He was  coverage  of official visits of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, may God protect him.

  • And , He was generosity  in '  Media Innovation Forum' which was organized by the Sultan Qaboos University.

    His death:

     

    He go to the mercy of God at the age of 74 years, after a long drive with journalistic work in the Sultanate of Oman.

     

     Where he died in Germany 21th  of February , 2013 after a long travel  illness continue for a year.
